Feast Menus and Film Pairings for Festival Nights

Welcome to Food & Film Festival Site, the official home of Feast: Food & Film at feastfoodfilm.ca. Our event brings together memorable cinema and carefully prepared food experiences in one place. Each screening is more than a movie night. It is a chance to enjoy a feature film alongside a menu inspired by its story, setting, ingredients, and creative spirit.

At Feast, the menu is an essential part of the evening. Guests do not simply arrive to watch a film. They come to discover how food can deepen the atmosphere of a screening and turn it into a shared cultural event. Our program pairs selected films with dishes, desserts, and drinks created by local chefs, bakers, restaurants, distilleries, and other culinary partners from Victoria and beyond.

What You Can Expect

Every event page in our program includes two key parts: film details and menu details. On the film side, you will find practical information such as director, country, year, running time, and a short description. On the menu side, you will see the food and beverage offerings prepared for that specific screening. This format helps guests choose an evening based on both cinematic interest and culinary appeal.

Menus may include small plates, themed tastings, sweets, specialty drinks, or curated pairings that reflect the tone of the film. Some evenings highlight regional ingredients. Others focus on fermentation, fine dining, whisky, pastry, or contemporary food culture. The goal is always the same: to create a complete experience where screen and table speak to each other.

Inspired by the Program

Past Feast selections have included titles such as Fermented, Michelin Stars: Tales from The Kitchen, The Goddesses of Food, Scotch – A Golden Dream, Chef Flynn, and New Chefs on The Block. These films naturally invite distinctive menus. A documentary about fermentation may be paired with cultured flavours, pickled elements, or craft beverages. A film about whisky may feature tasting notes and spirit-forward service. A story centered on chefs may call for elegant bites that celebrate technique and local produce.

Because each screening is unique, menus are announced as part of the individual event listing rather than as one general festival menu. Guests are encouraged to review each event page carefully before booking. Some screenings may have limited food quantities, special service notes, or partner-specific offerings available only on that date.

Important Event Notes

Feast events are presented as scheduled festival evenings, with screenings held at The Vic Theatre, 808 Douglas St. Ticket availability may vary by event, and some listings may appear as SOLD OUT while others show current pricing and a BOOK NOW option. Certain screenings may also include notices such as Membership Required or 19+ event. Please read all event details before purchasing tickets.

Our site is designed as a practical festival guide. It is not a recipe archive, restaurant directory, or film review magazine. Instead, it serves as a clear and direct way to explore the Feast lineup, compare screenings, view menu pairings, and choose the event that best matches your interests.

Why Menus Matter at Feast

Food has the power to extend the emotional world of a film. A thoughtful pairing can echo a place, a memory, a tradition, or a mood. At Feast, menus are created to complement the screening rather than distract from it. They help shape an evening that feels social, local, and distinctly festival-driven. This is what makes Feast part of the larger Victoria Film Festival experience: a celebration of storytelling through both cinema and taste.
